Holland was questioned over his upcoming role as Spider-Man during a press conference hosted by the Critics Choice Association (via Collider). Holland seems to be making an effort to make sure the tale is worthwhile.

"All I can say is that we have been having active discussions about what a fourth iteration of my character might look like," stated Holland. The question is whether or not we can bring the character to life. I'm quite possessive of Spider-Man.

The Spider-Man actor continued, "I want to preserve his legacy because I feel really, really fortunate that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare." I hereby promise not to create another one just for the pleasure of doing so. The character's time must be well-worth it.

The last Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland was No Way Home. The movie erased everyone's memories of both Peter Parker and the superhero (spoiler alert).

Holland will undoubtedly return to the position soon. He is too profitable for the MCU to play Spider-Man. Holland has starred in films such as Cherry, Uncharted, Onward, The Devil All the Time, and The Lost City of Z outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He starred in Apple TV+'s The Crowded Room earlier this year.
