Questions Are Raised by Lauren Boebert's Photo With Dave Chappelle.

A selfie featuring comedian Dave Chappelle and representative Lauren Boebert has caused some confusion.

While on a visit to the Capitol, the stand-up stopped for a lengthy conversation in the Rotunda as Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna and Boebert passed by him.

As they started to say goodbye, Boebert asked Chappelle to take a selfie, according to a video that was uploaded to X, the former Twitter.

"May we get a selfie with you?" You can hear Boebert asking. "I know you're trying to leave."

"Just three people who understand there's only two genders," was the message she added to the photo when she uploaded it to her X account. However, the post has already been removed.

Boebert was alluding to Chappelle's persistent, and some have called transphobic, gags about transgender persons in his live shows. The congresswoman is also well-known for her adamant resistance to LGBTQ+ matters.

Then, Chappelle discussed his encounter with Boebert during his show in Washington, D.C., purportedly saying that she "tricked him" and alluding to her notorious evening at the Beetlejuice musical theater production.

After video of her touching a male friend and him grabbing her breast during a play at a Colorado venue surfaced in September, Boebert issued an apology. She was asked to leave after snapping pictures and vaping several times.

Call to Activism, a Democratic advocacy group, reported that Chappelle stated several politicians had pressed him for pictures while he was in the Capitol.

Call to Activism posted on its X account, "What I didn't expect was to see Lauren Boebert," citing Chappelle's remarks from his stand-up routine.

Along with saying, "She tricked me," he also added that Boebert was "rubbing her mitts together" in an attempt to capture a picture with him. According to reports, Chappelle stated that he felt compelled to grant her request since it "was a human moment" in a politically divided era.

However, the comedian afterwards allegedly stated that her message "blindsided" him and that he "understood that there were two genders."

According to reports, Chappelle remarked, "It's a shame she tricked me." "I had two tickets to Beetlejuice and I was going to give her one!"

Newsweek sent an email requesting feedback from the representatives of Chappelle and Boebert.

Outside the Capitol, Chappelle revealed to the journalists that he was raised in Washington, D.C.

In a video uploaded to X, he said to a reporter, "A lot of the people I grew up with work on the Hill, so I hang out here sometimes when I'm in D.C., to catch up with old friends."

against a hundred workers at Netflix staged a walkout in October 2021 in opposition to comedian Chappelle's show on the streamer The Closer, which drew backlash for his gags against transgender women.

In a statement at the time, LGBTQ media advocacy group GLAAD attacked the comedian, claiming that "Chappelle's brand has become synonymous with ridiculing trans people and other marginalized communities."

When Chappelle first came under fire, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos supported him, saying, "We have a strong belief that content on screen doesn't directly translate to real-world harm."

He later admitted, however, to The Hollywood Reporter that he "screwed up" when it came to company-wide internal discussions regarding the program.

In later live performances and on social media, Chappelle intensified his criticism of transgender individuals.

This is Lauren Boebert's deleted tweet.
