Liz Cheney expressed shock at an ex-Trump Pentagon official threatening to attack media critics, saying, "I hope every American watches that clip."
In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper this week, former House Republican Conference chair Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) discussed her new book and reiterated her warning that the return of former President Donald Trump to office would pose a serious threat to American democracy.
During the interview, Tapper questioned Cheney about some of the individuals who have been selected to be key officials in the upcoming Trump administration. The questions focused on their threats to use the government's power to punish domestic foes.
"Kash Patel, who served on Trump's National Security Council, became chief of staff to the Pentagon during that period between Donald Trump losing and Joe Biden becoming president, the inauguration," Tapper started.
Additionally, he stated this on Steve Bannon's podcast earlier this week. Listen in," Tapper remarked prior to launching the video.

Patel then promised to abide by the law and the truth. However, this is a sneak peek at what might occur during a second Trump administration. According to today's Axios article, Patel, Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon, and other others would probably be in a Trump cabinet. When you hear that, what comes to mind? When you consider a second Trump term, what comes to mind? Tapper questioned Cheney.

Since Donald Trump would give those on the absolute periphery—those who are the least responsible, those who may very well be unstable—ultimate power, that is what you would picture happening. He would provide authority to someone like Kash Patel who was making such claims. I'm not sure what they mean when they discuss Kash maybe leading the CIA.
As we also know, prior to appointing him as chief of staff at the Pentagon, Donald Trump allegedly attempted to assign him to other posts, and it is said that the CIA director at the time, Gina Haspel, threatened to leave. That's the only explanation for why Kash didn't work for the CIA sooner. However, these are individuals who are unfit to hold any appointed office and have no place holding any type of power. But if Donald Trump were to win reelection, those are the kinds of individuals he would surround himself with.
