Students for Trump co-founder accused of assault.

North Carolina court filings state that a co-founder of Students for Trump has been taken into custody and is facing assault charges.

According to court documents, Ryan Fournier is charged with misdemeanors of assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon. It is claimed that he took the victim by the arm and smacked her in the forehead with a handgun.

On November 21, Fournier posted a $2,500 bond the day he was taken into custody. Documents submitted to the Johnston District Court in North Carolina list December 18 as the date of the court hearing.

Fournier's arrest and charges were originally reported by Axios on Tuesday.

According to Fournier's website, Students for Trump was established during the 2016 presidential campaign while he was a freshman at Campbell University in North Carolina. On X, the group currently has over 242,000 followers. According to his website, he is the group's chairman at the moment.

Fournier is also listed as the executive director of Radical Alert, an organization whose website claims to be dedicated to exposing "radicals" who have "taken over American college campuses," according to his profiles on X and LinkedIn.

Fournier regularly uses his sizable social media following—1 million on X and 479,000 on Instagram—to disparage President Joe Biden and applaud former President Donald Trump. Biden "has created death and destruction" in the Middle East, according to recent writings, and the now-defunct Jan. 6 Committee is a "sham committee."
